Columbia Gorge Half Marathon

The halfers
Our cheering squad, Alexis and Auggie

We're off
Ze boys.
Eliser waiting (nervously, I think) for me to arrive. It was his first race ever!!

I did it! 6.5 miles!

Trying to get the chip un-velcroed from my butt where my bib shifted when I took my jacket off.

He's flying!
I am tired. And happy. Auggie wants my gummy bears.

Check out those awesome finishers medals. Ceramic and made by local folks!
As an awesome bonus, I ran into Austin, a friend from Albion who I hadn't seen since graduation! Just eating some tacos with his wife at the table next to us. They came in second in the relay and live just one state over. So fun.

Oh, did I mention that it was supposed to rain all day? It poured on our drive over from Portland, and all the way home, but we had a few hours of glorious fall skies with some sun peeking out here and there. Just enough time for us to run a little half marathon through some yellow-leaf-strewn woods and along one of the most incredible rivers ever. And up some ginormous hills, but we won't focus on that. We finished 9th out of 35th teams, which was mostly due to Eliser being so fast. What a fun day!
