Chicago!!

Well, we made it to the Second City! We are thankful for safe travels and for good friends and family who helped in the moving process: specifically to René, Adán, Linda, Pat, Karl, Ann, Athanasius, Joey, Joseph, and Lewis. We are in the process of getting our utilities set up, looking for employment, and getting ready to go to Mira’s sister Rose’s wedding on Saturday. Tomorrow we should have internet access, just in time to leave for a couple of days! We will also have a new local number, which we will give out as soon as we officially get it.

Nampa, Idaho!

Just wanted to let y'all know that we made it out of town and all the way to scenic Nampa, Idaho, which is outside of Boise. Everything has gone well so far. The only thing we wish we could do differently was not pack our little CD player...we planned to buy an FM adapter for it, but instead we are stuck with plain old radio. During some parts of the trip so far have had great reception, but at other times, the seek button takes us all the way through the frequencies until it stops at the same country station! Thanks to our Clarkes friends, we only have to stop for bathroom breaks--we've got snacks aplenty! Today we enjoyed Mexi-Snax, unsulfured dried apples, Cracker Jacks, and Yo on the Go.

Movin'

Hello cool people. Eric and I are about to leave Oregon and head east! We'll be getting the moving truck on Sunday the 16th and will pack it up and, if all goes as planned, be on the road on Monday. On Friday, we will pick up the keys to our new apartment in Chicago! So...what will be doing in the Windy City? We'll let you know as soon as we find out! We thought that this blog would be a good opportunity to keep in touch with dear folks still in the Pacific Northwest as well as stay connected to people we care about all over the place as we make some big changes!
